Arbin Instruments, a worldwide leader in test systems for energy storage applications, announces the release of their new EVTS-X multi-mode tester. The powerful two-channel test system features a revolutionary new architecture which allows for the widest range of testing options in the industry.
Building on Arbin’s reliable EVTS series, the EVTS-X has been engineered to provide even greater flexibility and a wider range of operating specifications. Every Arbin system features fully independent test channels which are each capable of multiple current ranges. Arbin was the first company to introduce channel paralleling which enables users to increase the current handling capabilities of their system. Channel paralleling is now a common feature of test systems throughout the industry.
The enhanced power and flexibility of the EVTS-X systems come from the addition of two new testing configuration options. EVTS-X systems now enable users to use test channels in series which doubles the voltage handling capabilities of the system. Furthermore, Arbin has once again broken new ground with the introduction of the discharge booster mode. The discharge booster configuration enables users the ability to reverse the polarity of one channel allowing for extreme negative voltage testing.
Arbin has begun shipping EVTS-X systems to customers around the world. These new systems are capable of testing scenarios that range from -400 to 800 Volts and up to 600 Amps with one system. The EVTS-X system takes its place within Arbin's extensive product line comprised of standard custom designed systems for testing single cells, modules, and/or battery packs.
